Quick help on upgrade

Hi All,

I'm away from my computer, the internet connection here it's very slow.
I've connected to my home computer through ssh and download the update file with wget.
How can I perform the update through ssh also?

I've been trying to accomplish that as well, but there is no official support.

Currently I'm opening a local socks proxy via SSH and access the web GUI over this connection to do remote upgrades. Problem is that you need to upload the whole update file, which often takes an hour or more on a slow connection. It would be way more convenient to let FreeNAS download the update itself and then apply it.

I think with older versions (early 8.x?) you could trigger an update by creating a do-update file somewhere, but I didn't have the time to dig that out or check the current source code for possibilities.

Since the next major release 9.2.2 will feature an auto-update functionality, probably nothing officially is going to happen until then.
