I'm having issues with one of my hard drives. Everything started with a SMART short test failure. Here is the output of smartctl /dev/ada1 -a
I read the Hard Drive Troubleshooting Guide and ran badblocks (after taking the disk offline):
As far as I know the second number means write errors. But is this realistic? All of the tested LBAs with write errors?
And why only the first line always says '200001 bad blocks found' and not the other ones?
Also the SMART values don't look that bad. Any ideas on how to fix this (if possible at all)?
