I have been using iSCSI File Extents to backup Windows 2008 R2 servers using Microsoft's Windows Server Backup utility. I need to access the files in one of the extents because I need to rebuild a server, but when I try and access it from another Windows machine I get an error that the drive is not accessible and that access denied. I believe this may be due to permissions, but I have taken ownership and added full rights to the drive, but still the same error. If I use a share at the root of the mount point for the File Extents, I can see the Extent files.
So to my question(s):
Is there a way to open the Extent File in Linux to extract the files in it? Or does anyone know why the iSCSI drive can't be accessed from another Windows machine?
Thank you in advance...
Kris
