I am using ESXi 6.5 latest update and having issues with an NVMe device - Intel p4801x. The device is being passed through

If I use the stock settings diskinfo takes forever.

If I set hw.pci.honor_msi_blacklist=0

per https://bugs.freebsd.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=203874 then I can run a diskinfo test.

The problem with the diskinfo test is that once it gets to the 256kb block the test stops and produces an AIO error. Maybe something with Trim?

I tried on FreeBSD 12. This will actually kernel crash without hw.pci.honor_msi_blacklist=0 being set but works just fine afterwards.
Is this some known issue with NVMe devices?

I tried on FreeBSD 12.

Perhaps try on FreeBSD 11.3 to see what the outcome is, since this is the foundation of FreeNAS for now.
