Hello, I had an issue yesterday with version 9.10., I was migrating some virtual machines to FreeNAS storage and all of a sudden it became unresponsive and restarted itself.
After it restarted, it now hangs on mountroot. It fails to load even other snapshots.
I attached a screenshot of the error at the top of the shot.
Any assistance would be fantastic as I have customer servers on that NAS.
Thanks!

My guess is that your boot drive failed. Do you have a config backup?

boot device is raid1, do you think both disks went bad?
i do NOT have a config backup. possible to extract from bad disk? if it lets me.
worst case, if i do a fresh install on a usb stick, would i be able to import the existing volumes that are there?
thanks for the reply

What do you have for your boot disks? USB drives or SSD?

Config backup is one of the foundational things to safeguarding your system from failures. If you reinstall then your data will be safe but all of your settings regarding users, shares, network settings, etc. will be reset.

SSD drives.
i wouldnt mind configuring the network settings, etc but will i be able to load the volume drives with the virtual machines on it?
would i be able to extract the config db from the old drives if i create a new bootable?

now it seems to be going through a difference sequence "port 1 power on or off failed, USB_ERR_TIMEOUT"

What do you have plugged into the USB ports? An external hard drive, maybe?

Maybe. I was unable to help that person, but maybe your config backups actually exist.

Just copy that file to your other flash drive.

Plug in your flashdrive and find its drive letter with camcontrol devlist. Create a folder and try to mount your flashdrive.
Code:
mkdir /mnt/flashdrive
mount /dev/da1 /mnt/flashdrive

If that works you can copy your database with the cp command.
Code:
cp /where/you/found/it/freenas-v1.db /mnt/flashdrive/
