Team,
Freenas - FreeNAS-9.1.1-RELEASE-x64 (a752d35)
MinDLNA
Minidlna 1.1.0_1 minidlna-1.1.0_1-amd64
dlna_1
Need your help here. I have tried everything before posting this query.
My set up is such that my NAS is connected to my wireless router/modem and i am trying to access my NAS through devices connected to my wireless router(by wireless as well as lan to the wireless router/modem)
I am able to access all CIFS shares, copy files, move files and even delete files through the wireless using my phone or laptop.
I have installed the MiniDLNA as mentioned above. I have mapped storage and put two music files under the storage.
When i execute 192.168.X.X :8200 i am able to see that the files are scanned and displayed as attcahed.
My biggest problem is none of the DLNA clients are able to display the server.
Checklist of things i have done:-
- Able to ping(the DLNA Jail address) from any of the PC/Tablet/etc connected to the wireless
- Able to view CIFS folders and access files.
I am confused if i should set a port forwarding in my wireless modem router. I know its not a freenas issue but need some experts help to figure out if my router is blocking the DLNA server access.
I can ping the ip of the jail/media server and i can also see the files inside the shell under the mapped folder Media.
Biggest issues is inability to see the server from clients which will resolve my issue. I am a chemical engineer trying to make use of whatever knowledge i have.
Here is the log from MiniDlna

Can someone guide me if my router is the culprit or why the server is not visible as DLNA server to the clients through the wireless?
