SOLVED Lost network connection from my Jail to the outside network

Hi

I am running TrueNAS-12.0-U7 running as a VMWare guest on ESXi 7.0 Update 2 18538813 (use this thread to install the solution).

This setup was working for me for a while now and I was updated the individual software components each time there was an update.

I am running a simple plugin jail inside the TrueNAS solution with static IP address.

Today, I decided to re-install my ESXi server due to some problems with configuration

Once I load everything back and re-register the TrueNAS guest machine, while the guest is working fine, the jail can't seem to be able to connect to any host other than the IP address of the TrusNAS guest.

When trying to ping the gateway from the Jail, I am getting the following error:

I found an old thread here on the forums which ended up having a suggestion to AllowForged Transmit on my ESX host:

And Allow Promiscuous mode as well

Once I did that, everything started working :)
