Hey gang, I've been hoarding data for as long as I've had a computer. Three years ago I took the plunge on a Synology NAS. Now I've moved overseas and that's in storage. While I'll probably get it back within a couple of years, there's a data hoarding itch to scratch that isn't going to be satiated with (the no doubt more practical in my fresh-off-the-boat circumstances) USB hard drvies. Money is tighter than it was three years ago so I've been weighing up FreeNAS as an option to get the most bang for my buck when building my new storage solution.

Data hoarders love FreeNAS. Reliability and pretty much unlimited expansion capacity at a lower price point than consumer and small-business off-the-shelf products.
