List of available plugins reduced to 4 items

Hello, FreeNAS gurus!

I'm running the latest version of Freenas on a FreeNAS Mini box. I was trying to update Plexmediaserver plugin to 0.9.11.7 version (have now 0.9.11.4 installed). As a FeeNAS newbie, I did a dumb thing: uploaded 2(!) wrong packages - .txz (73 MB) and .tar (93 MB) instead of required PBI file (which I could not find online, by the way). I suspect that it was as a result of these actions, that the list of available plugins had shrunk to 4 items (the last four plugins from the bottom of the old long list). I found and deleted the two newly created "customplugin" jails - they were listed as running - but this did not change the situation. I also rebooted the server, just in case - same result: only 4 plugins are listed as available. And it take much longer to load this short list comparing to what it was before.

It seems that there are still those two big files sitting somewhere eating up the space. But where? and how can I delete them? Is there a way to get back the whole long list of available plugins?

Thank you in advance for your help!
Inna

Which version of FreeNAS? Sounds a lot like a 32-bit version if you're only seeing 4 plugins...

It's a 64-bit version of Freenas, and I used to see a whole long list of plugins. They just disappeared right after I (stupidly) uploaded two wrong (not PBI) packages to the system

Yup, that's a problem. Post the output of zfs list either in code tags or as a screenshot.

Dlavigne, here's what zfs list -t all gives me. Hope you can see something there that would explain the problems. Thank you for looking into it. Inna

Code:
[root@Zsklad ~]# zfs list -t all

Hmm, space doesn't seem to be the issue.... Did you find a solution to this?

Hi Dlavigne, thanks for asking. No, haven't had a chance to deal with it lately. But when I tried to access the server via the web interface today, the page would not open. On the console I see a bunch of lines saying something like: "Myservername" kernel pid 95228(fetch), uid 0 inumber 37202 on /var: filesystem full. It sounds to me like something has been happening on the server tho at filled the filesystem while I was not using or accessing it for the last week. I, probably, will have to do the facfory restore on the box and reconfigure it again. :( Not something I really want to spend my weekend on, again..

Which version of FreeNAS? It sounds like the system log has filled up the boot device. If you can get into the GUI, go to the System Dataset page in System and move the log to the pool. How to do so depends upon the FreeNAS version so check the docs for your version.

Unfortunately, I can not get into GUI. I even rebooted the server in hopes that it will change something. It did not. Is there any way to see/move that log on the console? I'd love to see what is creating those logs. The last resort is resetting it to the factory default... On the other hand, the log file is where it was set by those default. What if it fills up again? Does it have to be manually cleared?

Do you have a copy of the config saved? If so, I'd suggest reburning the stick with the same version of FreeNAS, restoring the config, then moving the system dataset off of the boot device.

Thank you Dlavigne for your support and suggestions! Your assessment of the problem and the advice was right to the point. I've managed to resolve the problem without restoring the config. It took some poking around on the console (first on the internet to learn the command to use on the console :)), but eventually I found the folder /var/log which contained several large (200-300 MB) log entries, all made on and after the unfortunate mess up of Jan 11. So I removed all those log entries, rebooted the server and the laptop, just in case, and when it all booted back on, FreeNAS was back on line, I logged in without a problem. All the available plugins are back in the list. I used your advice and moved both syslog and reporting database to the system dataset, according to this guide: http://doc.freenas.org/9.3/freenas_system.html#system-dataset.
Hopefully it's not going to happen again.

How to change the status of the problem to resolved?
