is it possible to have one zfs pool using multiple systems?

I have four identical systems with 24bays. I would like to make a one large zfs pool from these four servers. Is this possible? If it is... do you recommend it?

Well, yes, strip three of the systems down, put SAS expanders in them, and connect them to the 4th system. You end up with one server that is in four chassis. Supermicro sells expander configs for this purpose.
