I would like to set up ipmi so i can use it from a remote location not on my own network.
I am guessing i have to route some ports but i cant seem to find how or what ports i need to route and how i need to connect to that port from e remote location.
it might be a noob question but my networking knowledge is limited.
I have given my ipmi a static ip trough the bios and I can log into it with my home desktop PC fine I just want to be able to do it when i am on a different PC by browsing the right ip/port combo.

what i actually want to do is designate a certain port to a local IP when i brows to my home WAN ip if this is possible ofcourse.

tunnel into your network using any number of tools, ssh, vpn, ect. Don't expose your system directly on the internet.

@SweetAndLow said what I was going suggest as well, just tunnel into your home network and then browse to the static IP as if you were home.

Much more secure than opening up your IPMI interface to WAN. Yikes!
