SOLVED Immediate shutdown after root login in GUI

After the upgrade to Bluefin I got notifications that I should create a new user for logging into the UI. So far no surprise. I figured I do that today, but find I can no longer login at all. As soon as I try to login to the GUI with root, the system shuts down immediately! Without any messages in the GUI or on the console. I tried creating a local admin user via the command line, but the GUI doesn't accept it (and the user is deleted after a reboot as it was not created via the GUI).
Is there a way I can fix this?

Weird, logging in with root in the GUI on my phone just now worked. Will go from here and see if a new admin user solves the problem

Did your browser per chance cache the URL that triggers a shutdown? If you are not logged in you will get the login form, then be taken to whatever submenu corresponds to the URL.

That must have been it! Clearing the cache fixed the issue, thanks!
