Hey all, I'm an IT professional dabbling in home storage on the side. I've been running a FreeBSD server (9.x-something) for like 5 years, mainly for hobby-level web servers and photo/music/media storage for the home. Lately I've assembled a Xeon-based system with mostly used stuff from eBay, so I can use ECC RAM and have more disks and then naturally I took the ESXi route, so now I'm interested in virtualizing FreeNAS to try to separate the storage from the services.
