Hello,

I just restarted my FreeNAS machine and I get the following error in startup:

Code:
Trying to mount root from ufs:/dev/ufs/FreeNASs1a [ro]...
/etc/rc.initdiskless: /bin/chmod:Permission denied
/etc/rc.initdiskless: cp: Permission denied
/etc/rc.initdiskless: /bin/chmod:Permission denied
/etc/rc.initdiskless: cp: Permission denied
/etc/rc.initdiskless: /bin/chmod:Permission denied
/etc/rc.initdiskless: cp: Permission denied
/etc/rc.initdiskless: cp: Permission denied
/etc/rc.initdiskless: cp: Permission denied
.: cannot open /etc/rc.subr: No such file or directory
Enter full pathname of shell or RETURN for /bin/sh:

I did change some permissions on the share and after a restart I get this message.

is there a way to fix this?

Thanks in advance

Looks like a corrupted USB stick. Re-install FreeNAS on a new stick and restore your old config.

Thanks for the pointer, I did a upgrade installation of the same version over the existing FreeNAS-installation.
That fixed the problem.
Everything is all right, nothing lost.

Thanks
