So I have 8 HDDS:

2x 3TB
4x 2TB
2x 1.5TB

To my limited knowledge putting these in a RAIDZ will result in all drives being 1.5TB...

Is there a better way to go about doing this so I maximize my storage while still having redundancy?

I'm new to this so I'm open to any ideas/suggestions.

Thanks!

Stripe a bunch of mirrors, perhaps. Possibly make the 4X2TBs into RAID-Z2 for a little extra protection, if you like.

With 2x 3TB drives I would stay away from raidz1. I would go with striped mirrors, possibly 2 pools even, or a 6 drive raidz2 pool with the 2TB & 3 TB drives & mirror the 1.5TB drives.
