Hi

I have set my FreeNAS up with FTP access using port 21 forwarding though my router to the PC running freeNAS so I can access my files over the internet. It's set up to use accounts only (not anonymous) and they have strong passwords. Are there any security issues I should be aware of, my data isn't sensitive bit I don't want people hacking into my server.
Thanks
Alan

Anything running on standard ports is asking to be broken into. Tis slightly better to run your services on nonstandard ports on your external. Use the router to forward to the standard ports inside. Even then, it is still a risk, but typically a smaller one.
