Our FreeNAS server was working fine yesterday. This morning it started disallowing nearly all FTP users with 530 Login incorrect.
I can no longer login via ssh either! Permission denied (publickey).
WebUI is working.
The log shows these kind of errors:
notice: unable to use '~/' [resolved to '/mnt/raid-5x3/alpha/ftp/wh_magnolia/']:
Permission denied
chroot to '~/' failed for user 'wh_magnolia': Operation not permitted
error: unable to set default root directory
I tried restarting the FTP service, and log shows
notifier: [: on: bad number
notifier: Stopping proftpd.
proftpd[62067]: 192.168.1.99 - ProFTPD killed (signal 15)
proftpd[62067]: 192.168.1.99 - ProFTPD 1.3.3g standalone mode SHUTDOWN
notifier: Waiting for PIDS: 62067 62073 62099 62125.
notifier: Will not 'restart' proftpd because proftpd_enable is NO.
notifier: [: on: bad number
notifier: proftpd not running?
notifier: proftpd not running?
notifier: Starting proftpd.
notifier: - setting default address to 192.168.1.99
Is this permissions issues? And why can't I login with `ssh`? My keys are manually entered into the user settings.
