We had a power cut through the night and despite having a UPS FreeNAS was closed down. Later, I booted up FreeNAS and as it was booting it was showing an IP address of 192.168.10.114, which is not in my network range, 192.168.0.17 etc. I restarted FreeNAS again within IPMI and this time the IP address was in the range: 192.168.0.22. This is a different address that what it was using previously.
I have rebooted my machines, and also FreeNAS but the IP address remains the same and no FreeNAS on my Windows network. In Auxiliary Parameters of CIFS service, I have preferred master = yes, and also a bound IP address of 192.168.0.22, which is not editable.
Is there anything else I can do to get FreeNAS showing up again on Windows network.
Just a thought, would restoring from a backup resolve the situation?
UPDATE: Amazingly after 2 hours, FreeNAS is now showing up in the windows network, so all is good again , phew!
