Good morning all,
Long time reader, first time poster. I've been researching freenas for quite sometime and finally am working on building a system, that is, if the installation would work. Below are the details of the system:

x9sci-ln4f mobo
2x8gb Samsung ecc ram (on supported list)
E3-1230v2 cpu
CSE-835tq case
LSI 9201-16i
I've tried several corsair, PNY and centon flash drives withthe same result in both back-panel USB ports

I have removed the HBA to eliminate any possible error from the card. This machine was previously running esxi 5.5 with no issues - shouldn't be hardware related. I've attempted installing via IPMI, USB boot disk, SATA cd-rom and all have produced the same results. I've tried three different downloaded ISOs too. I have also updated the bios on the mobo to the latest bios. Everytime I attempt an install, the same exact error is produced. The source or destination of the install does not change the end result. Please see the picture attached. I have searched for 'ImportError: No module named freenasUI.support.utils' and found nothing. Any help or pointers would be appreciated. Thank you.

Would I be correct in assuming you have verified the hash against the iso file?
The log seems to be indicating a missing file. Perhaps try downloading a new iso???
I'm with big dave, download a new copy of the ISO and use the MD5 sum to verify it once more, and if youre making a bootable CD, i would burn it at 4x speed

Re-downloading now. I did not compare hash's. Between the bourbon and starting this at 2am, that really didn't cross my mind at the time. Interesting, the hashs of the ISOs i've downloaded several times match, however, they do not match the hash on the ftp server

In case the file on the server is pooched, I have an iso of: FreeNAS-9.3-STABLE-201505010007
that I know is good. I've been using it to fart around with a VM.
I don't know how I can make that available to you as the file is on my PC,
but I'll do what I can...

Completed downloading a third iso - hash matched what I downloaded last night, but not the published hash. I;ll try a different hash utility, but this has worked in the past.

Same results with different has utility. Going back a couple iterations until I get an ISO with a valid hash. Just for shits and giggles, I tried to install server 2k12 r2 on the box from ipmi and it worked like a charm. Just wanted to ensure things at least work.

At least the update packages have been working normally, so I'm surprised to hear weird stuff is happening with the ISOs.

Keep us informed of your efforts.

Fresh downloads...
FreeNAS-9.3-STABLE-201505040117.iso - posted hash e90f67cbaa2862493f80aef1f9495c99b4e0b725e26f0b8de1a4e8f890e83826

I think I am finished with troubleshooting bad ISO's - only so much that can be accomplished from my end. Will redownload once more and ensure consistency in hashes generated. Never had issues downloading ISOs from vmware or msdn sites - this isn't my first rodeo.

I'll upload an old ISO (2015-01-24) on my FTP, this is the one I installed on my NAS so I know it works ;)

My upload BW is not that great so it'll take some time (about 140 mins right now), be patient :) I compressed the file to lower the upload time but I only gained about 10 %, I guess it's always better than nothing...

Edit: here's the checksums:
Code:
C:\Program Files (x86)\FCIV>fciv.exe -both "W:\Documents\Mes Sites\FreeNAS-9.3-STABLE-201501241715.iso"
//
// File Checksum Integrity Verifier version 2.05.
//
                MD5                             SHA-1

Today I downloaded the FreeNAS-9.3-STABLE-201504100216.iso through the FreeNAS homepage, verified it with the sha256 sum and tried to install. I experienced the exact same error ("ImportError: No module named freenasUI.support.utils"). The target machine had already ran a 9.x version of FreeNAS before, which made me quite confident that the hardware should be capable of running it.

After some googling I noticed that on http://download.freenas.org/9.3/STABLE/ there was a more recent stable release available; FreeNAS-9.3-STABLE-201505040117.iso. I downloaded it, verified it as well with the sha256 sum and it is currently installing without the former issue of the missing Python module. It is on your earlier list, however, so this one did not work out for you?

When I download FreeNAS-9.3-STABLE-201505040117.iso, the hash doesn't match. Very perplexing. Just re-downloaded an iso from MSDN and compared hashes - I am reliably downloading files. I'll do the same for an iso from vmware - but I really think something is fubar'd with freenas.

being somewhat stubborn (as my wife would say) or persistent, as I would say, a download finally had a hash match! w00t! interesting as i kept trying the same file - several attempts, mixed-bag of hashes. Attempting the install now.

So it seems that for whatever reason the downloads from freenas are inconsistent. After finally getting a good download w/ matching hash, this worked. The earlier post about downloaded hashes matching was incorrect, that was a cut/paste error on my part. I downloaded several large ISOs from MSDN yesterday and had the hashes match 100% of the time. I downloaded several ISOs from vmware, and also had the hashes match. For whatever reason, getting a good download from freenas was difficult. Anyone having this error in the future should simply keep downloading until the hashes match.

No problem at all... Only thing left to do now is re install. I accidentally installed it on a cheap @ss flash drive that is getting replaced with the corsair.. I was excited to see the install actually working - didn't pay attention to which of the five flash drives was installed at the time. Kind of a relief that it was not hardware related. The great outdoors took has consumed most of my time this weekend....
