Hello

we have installed Freenas 9.1.1 on new server and remove an old nas

all seems work fine but not for MAC users

there is only 1 volume mountedand only 1 Windows (CIFS) share
also old nas (I don't remember firm) have only 1 windows share

below the issue indicated by the MAC users:
- is not possible open file created by Windows's user
- is not possible to copy on local MAC file created by Windows's user
- open file create by MAC user is not always possible

Any idea to what configuration we need to verify ?

Thanks

Sounds like permission problems.

Also, it's "Mac". Unless you mean "Media Access Control" and are having platform-independent network issues.

Hello

MAC = Apple Users :)

About permission, we have leave the default setting after installation

But now are reading this http://doc.freenas.org/index.php/Windows_(CIFS)_Shares#Configuring_Anonymous_Access

We haven't create guest user and haven't setup as write on this doc.

For windows user work fine.. may be ?

At this time:
- volumes owner(user) : root
- volumes mode : all permission checked
- CIFS share : allow guest access checked
- Service CIFS : authentication model > Anonymous | guest account : nobody

Any suggest ?

MAC = Media Access Control
Mac = Apple Computer

Regarding the rest of things, I can't help much with examples as I'm in a single user environment and I'm just using AFP and NFS without any problems.

On the Mac side, check the permissions of one of the problem files. What are they?
Get this from either the "Get Info" window, or on the command line: ls -la /path/to/file
