Hi,

I have:
NAS Server
Case: Chenbro ES34169
MB: Gigabyte GA-A75N-USB3
CPU: AMD Liano Vision A6-3500
Memory: G-Skill 8GB (2x4GB Kit) DDR3-1600MHz
HD: WD Green 2GB WD20EARS X4
Running: FreeNAS 8.2 on USB - CIFS protocol
Volumes: Raid 5 + UFS (used 91%)
Compression: lzjb

Network
Router: TP-Link WR1043ND
Cable: Cat 5e+6
Wireless: None. All connected with cable.

Desktop
MB: GigaByte GA-Z68X
CPU: Intel i5-2500 3.3GHz
Memory: 8GB
HD: WD Green 3GB WD30EZRX
Running: W7 64Bit

Problem:
While transferring files from my desktop to my NAS or from my laptop to my NAS i get low speed.
At the beginning when the NAS was empty with no data the transfer was 100MB/s after i pass 50% used volume it drop to 60MB/s and now i get 40MB/s.
The biggest problem is my Popcorn Hour A-300 streamer can't play movies from NAS because picture is jumping - low transfer rate.

I don't know what to do. I re-install FreeNAS twice and still no solution.

remove data from discs.
As disks fill up data will be more and more fragmented, especially if creation and removal is frequent.
UFS does a decent job of keeping data local, but as disks fill up the ability to place new data
"intelligently" is impossible.
This is not unique for UFS , all filesystems will have difficulties with full disks.

No you cannot defrag.
When data is located at many places it will affect both reading and writing. The cure is to
leave more free space.

( it ufs and my comment about dedup is not relevant)
