File System Permissions

It seems that even "root" in a jail can't see some of the subdirectories in the tree I've mounted in it. Changing the owner and bits to match those that do work still doesn't help, and I suppose this has to do with ACL permissions.

Is there a tool I can use to visualize and untangle that?

Edit: Ah-hah! At least one subdir in question is a mount point. That is, a different Volume, and the mounting wasn't transitive.
