One of my 2TB Seagate drives (ST2000DM001, no longer in warranty) had problems
"Device: /dev/da15 [SAT], 8 Offline uncorrectable sectors
Device: /dev/da15 [SAT], 8 Currently unreadable (pending) sectors"
and I have replaced it. Connecting the failed drive to a Windows machine and running the SeaTools "Fast Fix" on it claims to have fixed the problem and the drive now shows no errors. BUT how safe is that drive really? Is it worth keeping it in reserve to use as a spare in case another drive develops problems, or shall I just find another use for it in a non-critical situation?
