Detach volume for use on windows

I'm thinking to use FreeNas to make me a nas with a pentium 3, but i want to attach 2 external hard drive to the computer.

I want to know it i can easily detach external hard drive and then plug it into windows ?

I think my volumes should be in UFC because of the low hardware i have.
