Hello Everyone,
I had some questions and concerns regarding building my server using dell server products. I was hoping after reviewing the specs, you all can share or provide feedback if this would be sufficient to utilize the OS.
My goal is to use NextCloud for a family of 3 cloud storage, plex for media and streaming live content, and build Minecraft server for the kids. Possibly using zoneminder in the future for security cams.

You do NOT want a hardware RAID controller (PERC H710) for use with FreeNAS. Dell makes (if I recall) the H310 card also which is a simple SAS HBA and will work fine with FreeNAS.

I think the SAS controller is covered in one of these guides:

H310 would need to be flashed to IT mode. For Dell adapters "H" needs to be flashed, "HBA" is already in IT mode.
