Connecting UPS service to other host running Eaton Intelligent Power Manager?

I have an Eaton 5P RC 750 UPS, with USB communication - no network card. USB is attached to a Windows Hyper-V host, which runs the Eaton Intelligent Power Manager (server) software. I've made vain attempts at getting the UPS service to connect to that host using various Eaton SNMP drivers, etc, but without luck.

Does anyone know if this is possible at this point and time? Or might be able to provide any pointers?

Would going the other way work? Consider attaching the Eaton (assuming it's NUT compatible) to the TrueNAS host and have the Windows host slave of that. If this is feasible, check out the resource Configuring UPS support for single or multiple FreeNAS servers.
