UPDATE: crashplan updated itself and again, the way it connects from client to server. Config is no longer as described above but in: /var/lib/crashplan/.ui_info. Copy port and key (everything up to the root@chrashplan) and insert in the local client's .ui_info. Then all is OK again. No idea why the need to change it each time (sigh).
