Cant login over SMB or using ip

I'm extremely new to FreeNAS and i hope you can forgive any of my retarded questions

I just created a new nas sever from an old pc. Problem is every time i go to log in to my server via SMB or map the network drive and sign in, it says the credentials are invalid. Ive set up a group,user with a password,a data set, smb is on. Is there something I'm missing?

Thanks, I ended up following your video and tutorials before you even suggested it and it still wouldn't work. I fixed it by installing the 11.0rc image instead, from clean start. Everything works now. Thanks for the help though
