Hello,
I made two changes to my FreeNAS 11 server this morning and now I am receiving an error ("Please enter the correct Username and password") when I try to log into the server using my root account. My username and password are entered automatically from my password management software, so I am confident they were entered correctly. I have tried different browsers and computers to access the server, but still can't log in.
The first change I attempted was to set up the outgoing email server using google smtp. After entering in the google mail server credentials, I received an alert telling me to set up an email for the root account, so I updated the root account information used my personal email account for this. I then tried to send a test email, but the test email failed, so I removed the outgoing mail server information, figuring I would return to troubleshoot this another time.
I then went to the System Update screen and found that their were software updates recommended. After I ran the updates, I tried to log back into the server (after it rebooted), where I found the log in problem. I noticed that my url is now being redirected to https (as in https://my.ip.address.numbers/account/login), but before the upgrade, I accessed the server using http. I also checked my modem and router and the IP address has not changed. The main use for this server is as a Plex Media Server, and this is working after the upgrade.
Any ideas on how to resolve this issue will be appreciated. I can provide server specs, if needed.
