Hi,

I recently upgraded to form 8.3.2 to 9.1.1. I was really looking forward to getting the Plex media sever plugin working, but have run in to several problems.

When I was running 8.3.0 to 8.3.2 I never installed Jails or any plugins. After I upgraded to 9.1.1 I wanted to install the Plex media server. I went to Jails -> Configuration and filled out the fields with my setup info. Then went to View Jails -> Add Jails and added a "Standard" jail. Then I went to plugins, but no plugins are displayed in the list. In the Configuration the URL is set to "http://www.appcafe.org/freenas/json".

And then went to "View Jails" -> "Add Jails" but get the error message:
Code:
cp: /mnt/Media/jails/.warden-files-cache/packages/9.1-RELEASE/amd64/pkg.txz: No such file or directory cp: /mnt/Media/jails/.warden-files-cache/packages/9.1-RELEASE/amd64/repo.txz: No such file or directory ERROR: Failed boot-strapping PKGNG, most likely cause is internet connection failure. ERROR: Failed extracting ZFS template environment cannot open 'Media/jails/.warden-template-9.1-RELEASE-amd64-pluginjail': dataset does not exist ERROR: Failed to create ZFS base dataset ERROR: Failed create default template

In the log, this is what is get:

I read on the forums to try and ping from the Shell to verify there is an internet connection but pinging to google.com or a computer on my local network is not successful (no packets are sent or received). I can access everything that is stored on the FreeNAS computer from other computers on the local network without any problems.

I am not sure where the problem is. Any help would be really appreciated.

Thank you

Looks like your DNS is not set up correctly and it can't resolve domain names.
Post the output of this command:
Code:
netstat -rn

Thank you for the quick reply.

Here is the netstat -rn output:
Code:
[root@freenas ~]# netstat -rn

Looks like your problem is that you don't have default gateway correctly configured.
It looks like your FreeNAS box is 10.0.1.151 and your default gateway is also 10.0.1.151
That's fine IF your FreeNAS box is actually also the gateway of your network, which is probably not true (typically it's your router).

I changed the default gateway to my router and that seems to have fixed the problem. Thank you!!

Having the same problem. All my network settings seem good as I can ping form the NAS box, no matter what I try I cannot load the list of plugins? Running 9.2.1.5

The link works, in that I can download the list but it does not work in freenas, I can ping the location successfully but nothing populates in the Freenas list.

On a positive note I was able to download the pbi file for the plugin I needed and just upload/install that one.

Thanks for the link

I just started my FreeNAS unit a few weeks ago and I am having the same problem. I can ping my router or anything on my network but not google.com. My plugins list is empty and only displays "no entry has been found". I change the repository to http://www.freenas.org/downloads/plugins/9/x64/pbi-meta/pbi-repo.rpo and get this error message-Unable to set repository: HTTPConnectionPool(host='download.freenas.org', port=80): Max retries exceeded with url: /plugins/9/x64/pbi-meta/pbi-repo.rpo (Caused by : [Errno 8] hostname nor servname provided, or not known). I went to the shell and typed in netstat -rn and got this.
[root@freenas ~]# netstat -rn

What's the output of
Code:
nslookup google.com
and
Code:
cat /etc/resolv.conf

Put your output inside CODE tags so it's easily readable.

Here it is.

I'll add this too if it helps.

Please do the
Code:
cat /etc/resolv.conf
command again. You didn't do it right.
From the nslookup output though. It looks like you never set the DNS server setting.
You can set that option through the GUI under Network -> Global Configuration -> Nameserver 1
I'm guessing it is probably ok to point it to the same value as your router, which looks like 192.168.2.1. You can also point it to any public DNS server (like Google's 8.8.8.8) if you want.

I did the command again after I added Google as the Nameserver 1.
Code:
[root@freenas ~]# cat /etc/resolv.conf
search local
nameserver 8.8.8.8

I can now ping google.com. My plugin list still comes up empty but it appears I was able to manually upload the MiniDLNA plugin. It shows up on the left under plugins. If I click on it I get a little configuration menu. I will have to work on this for a little bit. Thank you for your help.

Ok, now see if
Code:
nslookup google.com
works now. If it does, your problem should be fixed now.

Looks like your issue has been resolved. Check the plugins page now, it should be populated. If it is not, then something may be wrong with your plugins config.

This is what I am getting.
You must configure a default route (Network->IPv4 Default Gateway)
Jails and Plugins cant be selected from the top tabs

I hope these outputs help

Code:

You are missing a default gateway entry in your netstat -rn output. Here's what you should have once you've configured the default gateway:
Code:
Routing tables

Internet:
Destination Gateway Flags Refs Use Netif Expire
default 192.168.3.1 UGS 0 107682 igb0
127.0.0.1 link#6 UH 0 3143528 lo0
192.168.3.0/24 link#3 U 1 1560 igb0
192.168.3.10 link#3 UHS 0 0 lo0

Note the default entry line that you are missing.
