So this is odd.... I just built my system and was all excited to get the disks burned-in but for some reason freenas won't see my USB's as install media.... I have tried USB 3 in a USB 3 port and USB 2 in the USB 2 slot and vice versa... so far it won't pop up... it sees all my HDDs though

I opened gparted on a live disc and it sees my removable media... is there anything i can run in the shell just to see if freenas is even able to see them?

Running a Supermicro A1SAi-2750F using the ports on the board itself....

Well they must be in a USB2.0 port to work. Have you just tried formatting them on a Windows machine? What is the flash drive brand and size?

sandisk 2gb usb 2, sandisk 16gb usb 3.

i havent tried formatting on windows... i will give it a shot...

EDIT: Tried it - didn't work

I wanted to get smartctl and badblocks out of the way, so i installed FreeBSD 10-Stable. Altogether it will probably take around 20 days so I will see you guys then to troubleshoot.
