Hi All,

At the beginning I want to say I'm just starting my adventure with FreeNAS and I hope you'll understand I might got confused even with simple setup.

I just finished installation of FreeNAS and I want to create a AFP share.
To do that I have to create a pool.
When I want to do that I don't see any disks available (attached screenshot) however my hard drive is listed under disks (as boot pool).
Does it means I cannot use HDD that I used for FreeNAS installation?
Is there a way to workaround this?

Many thanks for your help.

That is correct.

Install to USB drive (somewhat discouraged) or small SSD will be the best bet.

Note that a single disk will have no redundancy

Code:
Boot Pool Condition : ONLINE
Size: 7.50G
Used: 765M(9%)

this is my test system and is a new install so only one boot environment

Code:
Boot Pool Condition : ONLINE
Size: 111G
Used: 4.71G(4%)

working system with a few updated boot environments, so 8GB will work so some time.

USB drives seem to have a tendency to fail
