Hi all,

I haven't had much time to play around lately but I am having trouble creating my first RAIDZ2 pool on my new storage server. I have x6 3TB drives that I want to put into RAIDZ2. I keep having this issue where a message appears that says something to the effect that da5 cannot be formatted or added. I first zero'd the drive on my desktop then tried again, same issue. I swapped the drive with another, still the same issue, still da5 (even though another drive was in this position). I just tried to zero the da5 drive now while its still in the server through the FreeNAS GUI and got this message: Error: Failed to wipe da5: dd: /dev/da5: Operation not permitted

I have:

Dell C2100
M1015 crosflashed, version 16
3x 3TB Seagates
3x 3TB Toshibas
FreeNAS 9.3
HP 16GB Flash drive (for FreeNAS)

Try wiping the drive manually. CLI-Fu or DBAN are possibilities that come to mind.
