edit: I had this whole post written out and then I noticed in my tinkering that I broke minidlna. Damn your eyes, I said. F it. REINSTALL pbi.
remake the videos folder within the jail
boom I can see my videos
Going to post this still so that if any other newbs out there run into this same trouble - sometimes it helps to reinstall. Not the best advice. But when you're 20 hours in - may as well try sometimes.
Hello,
I have a little bit of experience, but not enough. I've been inching my way through creating this streaming minidlna FreeNAS server and I've hit a wall seeing my videos from my xbox 360.
Using a couple threads as reference mainly:
http://forums.freenas.org/showthread.php?7960-miniDLNA-settings-on-8-2-0-p1-Clarification-desired
http://forums.freenas.org/showthread.php?7913-Freenas-8-2-p1-minidlna-not-scanning-for-files
And I feel like I did everything the same as these people, but I may have got lost in the big bad bsd forest.
Here's my minidlna.log from jail.
I created a jail, installed minidlna.
Jail's IP is 192.168.1.47 and it is pingable from the FreeNAS system
I have my dataset /mnt/Volume0/videos
I created a folder w/in my jail /mnt/Volume0/jail/Jail/usr/pbi/minidlna-i386/videos (chmod 777)
I created a mount point; source: /mnt/Volume0/videos ; destination: /usr/pbi/minidlna-i386/videos
I can see the videos inside of the jail's video directory
remake the videos folder within the jail
