Access Minidlna from anywhere

Is it possible to access my minidlna from a different location through internet? I,m using without a problem locally, I did open port 8200 and Im using No-ip so I can access from anywhere and I have no problem to connect gui web or transmition however I got and error when I try to access my Minidlna.

Your best bet is via VPN. If you open that port anyone that tries to use that port and your IP will get access to your data.. not a very smart idea if you ask me.

Ok I´ll try using a VPN however please confirm if it will be possible to access from another location just using IP:8200

Yes, through vpn you will be able to access it.

I have a pptp vpn setup via dd-wrt on my router and i use this every day.

One thing that i haven't gotten to work is firefly and itunes via VPN.. but that could be a simple config issue on my end.
