I have just installed as a Virtual Machine under ESXI5.5, and have 2 x 2TB disks as Mapped Raw LUN" Disks.

The disks are listed under View Disks, however neither of these disks is available for selection in import volumes, UFS Volume Manager, ZFS Volume Manager etc etc.

I have tried with both partitioned and un-partitioned disks, no difference, although the disks are visible they don't appear accessible.

If I select Wipe in View Disks, I get an error message "Error failed to wipe da1:dd /dev/da1: Device Not Configured.

So not a very good start, where do I go from here ??

No.. not a very good start at all. Mapped Raw LUNs is stupid as hell. It doesn't always work(don't ask why.. we don't know ourselves). We've had people that had it work for weeks or months, then one day it doesn't and even when they fix it their pools are corrupted.

Read these threads and take them very seriously. We wrote them and stickied them as a warning ....

You'll get virtually zero support here if you even try to do anything that we recommend against regarding virtualizing. We're volunteers and we just don't waste our time on things that are going to be flaky at best.
