Hi,

I've got a problem that was present in 11.1-RC1, and seems to have made it to the release.

When the kernel boots, it goes to enumerate all the hard drives attached to my LSI 9200-8e HBA's (2308 chipset?) with the v20 driver on both, and it fails waiting for info while its supposed to be spinning up?

Those are some of the errors I get while I wait for the devices to walk. I set hw.mps.0.use_phy_num=0 to tell the driver to not map drives based on their PHY and that may have fixed some of the errors?

After a long time waiting for system to boot after the use_phy_num change in loader.conf this info appears:

If nobody knows an instant fix, my next step is to enable debugging in the driver via loader.conf and report back anything interesting?

THIS PROBLEM DOES NOT OCCUR WHEN I BOOT THE 11.0-U4 KERNEL/USERLAND/BOOT ENVIRONMENT. EVERYTHING WORKS PERFECTLY LIKE IT ALWAYS HAS.

Below is a kernel log from a finished boot, under 11.1, where it failed to detect the drives, and was unable to import any pool. log file is too large to hide in this post, using gist.

Thanks.

Please create a report at bugs.freenas.org and post the issue number here. Include a debug in your report (System -> Advanced -> Save Debug) which will hide the ticket from others until the dev has a chance to review it.

Hey just saw what you posted now. Thank you. I will wait for it to finish booting, and then do what you asked in the UI.

I spent more time troubleshooting the error. I discovered I had changed something without documenting the change.

Further troubleshooting corrected an underlying hardware issue I had created. This problem I had with 11.1 is gone.

Updated bug, please delete, will mark as answered.
