Hi community,
My server:
- HP ML310 G5 server, controller E200
- Boots from internal 4Gb USB flash drive
- 8 Gb DDR2 ECC RAM
- 2x2x 250Gb SAS
- 2x 500Gb SAS
- 2x2Tb SAS
FreeNas 9.1.1

This is the first time I attempt to "play" with freenas, so i get an old server to test the whole product.
So, FreeNas installation went well.
RAID construction through the controller too.

Once Under the freenas interface, i want to create with ZFS tool which recognized the disks.
Each time I want to create volume, the server reboots.
UFS way works, but i meant that there's a lot much more of possibilities with the ZFS.

I've searched the web with no success
but i found this:
http://forums.freenas.org/threads/help-zfs-volume-creation-fails-causes-server-reboot.15435/
which is not helping me because i don't want to buy a new controller.
The controller HP E200 is (normally) full compatible with freenas (dixit freenas howto itself).

So, am I doin' something wrong ? Or should I do it a different way with the raid configuration ?
Not creating volume through the HP interface means not recognizing the disks Under freenas.

N.B: i've made an update of the controller from the 1.8version firmware to the 1.86 (last known).

Anyone with magical tricks ?

Thanks in advance guys,

As cyberjock & I said in the other thread, an IBM M1015 controller, flashed to IT mode should solve your problem. Even if it worked, hardware RAID + ZFS on FreeNAS is a recipe for disaster.

If you don't want to buy a new controller - just stay with UFS.

Sorry, there's no magical fix.
