i was hoping to update my bios this weekend, but now i am scared crapless.....

Like i said, the update definitely made things more reliable. We still don't have a complete list of changes for 2.0b. But besides some minor issues with the network stack, i haven't encountered any new weirdness. *knock on wood*.

On thing I do for everything, is keep a copy of it. In this thread I would have both the old BIOS and the new BIOS. Thus, potentially the ability to go back to the old BIOS if it was better.

This is one of the things I use my NAS for, keeping tons of hardware documentation, firmware, software, user manuals, and such. Compared to a single Blu-ray movie, all that history takes up a trivial amount of space. (My NAS is also the backup for my media server...)

Supermicro should change their 'no bios update' mentality, it's ridiculous. It forces me to update anyway. I didn't even want a copy of that old bit**y bios. The many reboots really annoyed the hell out of me. But yeah, keepinga copy of everything (especially config files) is a time saver.

I like how changing the copyright date from 2016 to 2017 is an "enhancement".

Not even that, 2015 to 2016!

And so is the version bump for the BIOS to 2.0b. I guess they get paid by the ticket.

Aaaaaand 2.0c is already out. If someone has the changelog please do share, I wonder if the SGX bugfix is the only significant item.
Hope this new update does not break the HAP bit in me_cleaner (haven't tried it yet, but planning to).

Hum... I too have not yet updated the last BIOS and another one comes out. Maybe to fix the last BIOS? I'll wait for a description of the changes. Presently my system is running rock solid, why mess with it I say unless there is something worth while to update.

Performed the update two nights ago. Went fine. I hate that it resets the boot order---but obviously what else can I expect since it's a new BIOS. lol.
