@Urs Are you still running the same system you posted earlier in this thread:

CPU: AMD FX-8350
MBD: ASUS M5A97-R2.0
RAM: 2x 8GB Kingston DDR3-1600 ECC (KVR16E11/8)

If so can you post the BIOS revision and any relevant memory/ECC settings that you may have set? This is excellent data for the budget-minded FreeNAS user who is looking at AMD.

Yep, still the same system. Its backing my main machine (twin Opteron 6328 @ 128G Ram).
It is getting a backup every 30 min, so the drives are working 70% of the time, so it is not a forgotten, idling machine in the corner of the room.
If i read out the bios revision and memory settings i have to reboot ;-)
I will do that today...
