Hello. I am having trouble getting write access to a CIFS share in windows. I want to use it for file backups, but first i need to be able to write to it!
I can see the share in Windows and i have even mapped it to a drive letter. During the mapping process i choose to "use different credentials", then type in the one and only user name and password i have on my server (it accepts). So one would assume that i have write permissions...because i added my credentials...but no. If i try to make a folder or something in the share, it tells me i cant because i don't have permission.
Can anyone help? I really haven't got a clue what's going on. I don't mind taking a screenshot of every setting in FreeNas if it means people can tell me where i might have gone wrong. My AFP shares are running perfectly with all permissions and such. I think i must be doing something silly on the CIFS side.
Thanks,
Chris.
