Hi everyone;
I'm planning to build my first FreeNAS server, but I don't have many resources so this is the hardware I will use:
-CPU: Intel Q6600 (4C,2.4G, 8M)
-RAM: Please recommend me how much RAM should I use.
-OS HDD: 160Gb old SATA Seagate Barracuda
-Server HDD: 3x2Tb WD Red
-Motherboard: RAID compatible (I don't want to use ZFS because DDR2 RAM is expensive, so I rather to use RAID 5)

In my HTPC I have the same model of case, heatsink, CPU and fans. Doesn't heat so much, I think that in this aspect will be stable. What do you think about the software stability? (I want to run on it a DLNA server, a Owncloud server and of course, a NAS server) (Less than 2 clients will be using it at the same time)
Thank you
P.S: Sorry for my bad english

I'll add to that--if you don't want to use ZFS, then FreeNAS really isn't for you. The option to use UFS has already been removed for the next release, so once it comes out, you won't have any further security releases or bug fixes available. If you want to build a NAS with this hardware, I'd encourage you to look at a different OS to run it. You could start by looking at NAS4Free or XPEnology.
