Hi,
I have a dell R630 server (brand new) which came with a LSI 3108 (PERC H370 Mini).
I wasn't able to switch to mrsas driver (stuck with mfi driver on FreeNAS 9.10)

Therefore I'd like to purchase a new 8 port controller to be more reliable than the one I have.

Your recommendations are most welcome

LSI 9211-8i (IT mode) or the IBM1015 (the community favorite, cross flashed to 9211 in IT mode)

You can also cross flash a LSI 9240 to a 9211 IT mode.

Thanks,
Does either of these cards comes in a "Mini" version, Since the server shape is a Pizza tray

1u, 2u ? How big? You can get a short bracket for 2u or a adapter for 1u.

So, looking at the hardware guide i saw a bunch of models that are recommended.
Could you direct me to a specific model that is known to work well with DELL servers? (especially for my server which is R630)

Hmmm did you read the hardware guide? They list a Dell h200 and h310 as good cards. Seems like those would be exactly what you need. Or just get the lsi card.

Assuming they're not doing nasty stuff like whitelisting PCIe devices, all of them work.
