What is the stable version to install in Dell optiplex 330

Hi all,

New to freeNAS and planning to use my old Dell optiplex 330 PC with following config,

Intel Core 2 Duo E4500 Processor (2.2 GHz, 2 MB L2 cache, 800 MHz FSB),
4GB RAM, 2TB HDD)

Planning to run plex on this. average one user and max 2 users. Have 3 mobile devices + 2 laptops + tv with chromecast.

Expect advice on which version to choose.

Vista / Windows 7?

ZFS on FreeNAS requires a minimum of 8Gb of RAM, preferrably ECC. And, you'll need additonal RAM for Plex.

Your Optiplex 330 is probably 6+ years old. FreeNAS is designed to run on newer hardware.

You might want to look at NAS4free (www.nas4free.org), that might run on systems unsuitable for FreeNAS.
