The available size seems to be reporting incorrectly.
I mounted the volume and wiped data to be sure it was empty
but it still shows 200 gigs less then it should under "Available".
I have since added data to it as you can see in the screenshot.
Initially it showed "8KB Used (8%)" "2.4TB Available" & "2.6TB Size".
There seems to be a 200gig discrepancy.

Nope, not at all. Depends on your block size. If you have block sizes of 512-bytes, just 100GB of user data will consume over 2GB of actual disk space. :)

And don't get started with snapshots and such. ;)

Yeah.. sorry. 100MB of data can consume 2GB of storage.

It has to do with the efficiency of block sizes. Larger blocks are much more efficient, but smaller blocks can be accessed faster from the physical media.

You can't "force" a higher block size, you can only enable it. FreeNAS, by default, enabled 128KB block sizes (the largest currently supported on the open source version of ZFS). So unless you changed it from the command line, you get what you get.

I understand block size discrepancies, but when I first mounted the drive and created the volume
(Totally empty and formatted drive) the info screen showed
"8KB Used (8%)" "2.4TB Available" & "2.6TB Size".

Yep, not a typo... 8 KB (Kilobytes) and yes 8%....
Since when was 8KB, 8% of 3 freakin Terabytes!?! lol

Doesn't make sense.

I don't have an answer to your question. I put a ticket in at bugs.freenas.org and see what a dev has to say.

Or drop in #freenas on freenode and ask. A dev is almost certainly going to be there. I will probably be there and coax a dev out from their cave if I have to.
