Hi.
I created some testing-VMs and booting the iso of debian-8 and ubuntu-14-server worked fine. But i can't get yavdr .iso boot. The iso is based on ubuntu 14.04.1 LTS (http://www.yavdr.org/download/). I also tried to boot a knoppix iso without success. Any idea who to boot such iso?

edit: I'm using FreeNAS-11-MASTER-201704300409

That's what I thought too. But the yavdr iso has a \EFI\BOOT directory. So I'm pretty sure it should work. Mainly because ubuntu 14.04 .iso worked and yavdr is based on 14.04. So who I can find out whether its a UEFI problem?

Hi Kris. Thanks for help. I had already read that. And thats the way I got debian and ubuntu running after installation. But with "Boot Maintenance Manager" > "Boot from file" I can't browse iso-files /CDROM-drives. Is there a way to debug this? Maybe it boots correctly but I miss to press a button or so?! I spend a lot of time but allways stuck in EFI shell. Any other idea?

I misread your first post. If you are saying the yavdrI ISO itself does not boot with UEFI , then the webUI is no use to you, as it doesn't look like the ISO supports UEFI. (If the ISO doesn't boot in VirtualBox when EFI is enabled in VM system settings, then it doesn't support UEFI)

You could try using iohyve with the grub boot loader. See here: https://youtu.be/rCDh9K16Q5Q
