Very slow recovery from TIme Machine backup

Hello folks,

I am trying to restore a backup that I have made on one of my share dedicated to Time Machine backup…*and it takes a very very very lonnnnng time !

I had 350.000 files to restore (about 300Go).

Restore procedure works, It is just taking a very long time…*
I am wondering why ?

Do you have any tuning advise ?


P.S. Backup was made from OSX 10.6.8 and restore is on a 10.8.2

How long is "a very long time"? Are you accessing the TM share by ethernet or wifi?
