Hi,

I would like to see freenas to support any or all of these USB2/3, Thunderbolt, Firewire Support. I have already started a topic on thunderbolt, so I know that it cannot work until freenas get FreeBSD 10. As for the rest of them, I would be happy with USB 2 support, so my computer can see my freenas volumes as more of an external hdd as well as nas. This would be convieniat when working with services that cannot access pw protected things like freenas. Also usb3/thunderbolt would be a great way to transfer large files to the nas.

Any ideas if even USB 2 would be able to work? I have no programming background or knowledge but wouldn't it be very similar to the already existing time machine feature of freenas where it creates a volume type thing that the Mac can see (although it still is within the pw network of freenas).

Anyway though I would put it out there.

cheers

I think this is out of the scope of freenas.

I have yet to run across a program that cannot access a shared network drive....
