Hi All,
I am new to this stuff and have chosen FreeNAS to install on my new HP Micro server but I am having trouble getting the boot USB to work.
My steps are ->
I DL FreeNAS - ISO FreeNAS-8.0.4-RELEASE-x64.iso
using utility Win32 disk manager i create a bootable USB
Insert USB turn on Micro server

Then it comes unstuck.............i get as far as "Could not find kernel image: linux"

Now I've googled this so i know what it means but it's got me stuffed how to fix the problem.

I should mention that i can install another OS from USB so my USB is ok. but i didn't like it's interface so want to use FreeNAS

All help appreciated!
thanks

Take a look at the "Official" documentation in my signature below (2nd link). With the ISO you don't copy it to USB, you boot from it (any computer), insert your USB flash drive, and the ISO installs FreeNAS to your USB flash drive. Then you remove the flash drive, put it in your NAS and boot from it.

If you don't want to do it that way, then you can get the "FULL" image and use physwrite. It's all in the documentation.
