Hi Friends,

First of all thanks for the great product :)
I am new to freenas and installed and configured and add users too. But I need give permission to the users to upload only compressed files like rar, zip, .bz2, tar ....

Because users dont want to upload folders or files it will take too much space, they have permission to upload only compressed file to storage server.
Please anyone help me in this.

I don't believe there's any way to do what you want....

Plus, even if you do a rar, if you choose no compression it'll still be a rar file but you saved nothing.

The whole concept doesn't really seem well thought out.

If you want compression you could create a zpool and enable compression. Just be careful.. you will need a meaty processor on your FreeNAS server to handle the compression at good speeds.
